On his way home to Fredericksburg, Texas, his Uber driver stopped for gas. The driver, a Nigerian man, was wearing a T-shirt displaying the exact Bible verse David, his wife, and supporters had been holding onto:
Isaiah 54:17 — “No weapon formed against you shall prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.”
“I laughed and cried at the same time.”
For David, it was a powerful reminder that even though he was going to prison, God had not abandoned him.
“David, you’re gonna have to go to prison, but I’m never gonna leave you.”
