Filmmaker Chris Burgard describes what he witnessed along the southern border: groups with only one or two adult men, women’s shoes left behind and sometimes five to 15 children.
For years, he says, when children were taken into custody, he believed they were safe and would eventually be reunited with their families.
But Burgard says the reality was far darker.
“What we didn’t know back then is they were just getting rolled back into child trafficking.”
Burgard and Lara Logan discuss DNA testing used during the Trump administration to verify claimed parent-child relationships and prevent children from being released to unrelated adults.
Then came a major change.
The ICE rapid-DNA pilot ended in September 2021. DHS said declining referrals, fewer prosecutions and cost contributed to that decision, while CBP simultaneously launched a replacement familial-DNA program. A later DHS Inspector General audit found CBP ultimately conducted almost no familial DNA testing: just 314 tests among roughly 2.7 million people claiming to be part of family units from September 2021 through September 2024. Filmmaker Chris Burgard argues that Americans are not confronting one ideology or movement, but what he describes as a “red-green axis” — an alliance of Marxist and Islamist forces working toward the destabilization of the United States.
Pointing to the Muslim Brotherhood’s 1991 “Explanatory Memorandum” and the warnings of former Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov, Burgard says the methods described decades ago appear to converge around the same strategy: weaken America from within.
His question is simple: if these warnings have been out in the open for decades, why hasn’t the government stopped it?
Burgard’s answer: infiltration.

Muslims make up a relatively small percentage of the U.S. population. But Lara Logan argues that looking only at the national percentage misses what can happen at the local level.
In districts with a sizable Muslim population, Lara says that voting bloc can have significant influence over who gets elected. And when politicians depend on those votes, she argues they may have little incentive to confront difficult questions about Islamist ideology and political influence.
Filmmaker Chris Burgard says this is part of what his new film, Remember the Alamo: Don’t Sharia My Texas, is trying to expose.
“You have Texas leaders, politicians, who cannot get elected in their district without the Muslim vote. And therefore, they don’t want to hear any of this.”

Filmmaker Chris Burgard says what began as a “diversity” program between his Presbyterian church and a Los Angeles mosque quickly raised serious questions.
After researching the people involved, Burgard says he confronted participants over what he believed were ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Then, the morning after that confrontation, his young daughter spotted a man dressed in black watching from a pasture near their home.
For Burgard, that changed everything.
“Really? You’re gonna send guys to put eyes on my wife and my daughter? It’s a whole different ballgame.”
