According to anti-human trafficking advocate Jacquelyn Aluotto, traffickers use a powerful psychological weapon known as trauma bonding.

Through manipulation, abuse, fear, isolation, and moments of false affection, traffickers create an unhealthy emotional attachment that can become incredibly difficult to break.
