On Episode 77 of Going Rogue with Lara Logan, Lara sits down with Dr. Timothy Shindelar, a combat veteran and election security advocate, who details a stunning moment in their federal case where the Department of Justice allegedly told a judge there was “nothing to investigate” and pushed to have the case dismissed.
Shindelar explains that despite a judge ordering a 60 day investigation into formal federal disclosures, the DOJ responded in writing that it would not investigate and requested the case be canceled.
Now in appellate review before multiple federal judges, the case has yet to be heard on its merits.
He also describes how he and his team initially filed the case pro se, representing themselves due to concerns about finding attorneys they could trust, but are now being told the court will not hear the case without legal representation, creating yet another hurdle.
The conversation highlights the legal and procedural challenges whistleblowers say they are facing as they seek accountability through the courts, raising broader questions about transparency, oversight, and access to justice.
